What is the difference between monobloc and bibloc mandibular advancement devices (MAD)? Have they been designed to deal with different snoring causes?

MADs either consist of one part (so-called monobloc MADs) or they consist of two separate parts – one for the upper and one for the lower jaw (so-called bibloc MADs). The advantage of the bibloc MADs is: Significantly higher, lateral flexibility of the jaws and they allow you to breath through your mouth at least to some degree . The advantage of the monobloc MADs is: They generally prevent one from breathing through the mouth, and thereby help with two causes of snoring – namely, open mouth snoring and tongue-based snoring.

Bibloc MADs allow for the infeed to be adjusted more precisely, as – in the case of bibloc MADs – this is only carried out after the moulding process, whereas – in the case of monobloc MADs – this is done during the moulding process.
