Product description

A solution for snoring must, above all, be effective and be worn regularly. Only then can it improve the sleeping situation of the person concerned.

This is why anti-snoring pillows works well

Snoring occurs when the tissue in the area of the upper respiratory tract relaxes and slackens during sleep. In most instances the nose is involved in the cause of snoring in one way or another. Either as the main cause of snoring, or as is more frequently the case, in a contributory role.

An anti-snoring pillow like somnipax rest prevents the tongue from sinking into the throat during sleep in an amazingly simple way. The pillow consists of two comfortable recesses between which a bulge (almost like a small “mountain”) rises. If you lie on the pillow in the middle of your back, you automatically lie on the highest point of the bulge. This is rather uncomfortable, as you are actually lying on a thin ridge. Almost inevitably, your head rolls to the side in this position and you come to rest in a lateral sleeping position. Because of the lateral position, the tongue muscle can no longer sink backwards into the throat. The airways remain free.

The somnipax rest Anti-Snoring Pillow combines comfort with effectiveness

somnipax rest combines the advantages of an anti-snoring pillow with the comfort of a high-quality sleeping pillow. The innovative design of the pillow always encourages the sleeper to sleep on their side. Because the back position feels uncomfortable, or is even rendered impossible, due to the design of the pillow, sleeping on the side feels is even more comfortable, in comparison. Once the snorer is sleeping on their side, the tongue muscle can no longer slide back into the throat and obstruct the upper respiratory tract. This eliminates both vibrations and the subsequent snoring.

somnipax rest is not only an anti-snoring pillow – it is also a high-quality sleeping pillow optimised for comfort. It is made of hypoallergenic material and is free of the chemical odour often typical of such pillows. The filling is available in two variations; either in memory foam or in soft-elastic comfort foam. The covers are gentle on the skin and can replacement covers are also available separately.

Application

Snoring often has a positional cause, so it only occurs when lying on your back. In such cases the somnipax rest Anti-Snoring Pillow is a good solution. It encourages your head to move into to a lateral position, because you sleep on your side as a result, you automatically stop snoring. In severe cases of positional snoring (snoring that occurs when you sleep on your back), it is advisable to supplement the pillow with a positional therapy belt or vest, such as the Nachtwaechter Positional Therapy Vest. If you snore with your mouth open, the snoring may be caused by vibrating palatal tissue. This occurs regardless of the position you sleep in and therefore cannot be prevented with an the anti-snoring pillow. In this case it is better to use a anti-snoring mouth guard such as somnipax shield. In addition if your snoring is caused by poor nasal breathing, the anti-snoring pillow will also be of no help to you. In this case there are different nasal dilators that you can use.

Instructions for use

If you suffer more severe sleep disorders, such as sleep apnoea, you should consult your doctor before using the anti-snoring pillow

Instruction manual

Place the pillow under the cervical spine (the neck). First lie on your back with your head on the highest point, the central elevation of the pillow. Relax and let the design of the pillow guide you to sleep comfortably on you side (in the lateral position). Note: The efficiency of this ecxcercise is increased if you lay the back of your head down on the highest position of the pillow before you're coaxed into your side. If you just immediately place your head sideways in one of the depressions, the effect will not be as pronounced. You can wash the pillowcase on a delicate 40 degree Celsius cycle. Please do not wash the memory foam filling, you should only air it regularly! The filling should also not be folded, creased or shaken, otherwise the material may fail. If the filling is dirty you can wipe it with a damp cloth. Here you can find the detailed instructions for use of the somnipax rest Anti-Snoring Pillow
