For those wishing to first test a mandibular advancement device (MAD), which model is recommended as the universal entry-level model?

Regarding first-time users, we have had good experiences with the somnipax guard and somnipax guard S MADs . somnipax guard, as an all-rounder, is suitable for all jaw sizes, especially for average- to large-sized jaws. somnipax guard S consists of a flat and comfortable design. It is, however, primarily suited for average- to smaller-sized jaws.

Whether somnipax guard or somnipax guard S is suitable for you, can be determined via one simple trick:

Cut a square from a thick, clean cardboard box, just big enough to fit in your mouth and cover your teeth. Place the piece of cardboard in your mouth and bite down on it once. The imprint of your bite should now be clearly visible on the cardboard. Now you can measure the length and width of your impression with a ruler. Then compare these measurements with the width and length of the MAD in the “Technical Data” section. The length and width of the MAD should be at least 1 mm larger than the respective length and width of your impression. If this is the case, then it is suitable for your jaw size.

Additionally, both MADs can be purchased as a fee-based Extra Package which provides you with an the optional 30-Day trial right. With this trial right, we also take the product back if the seal on the sterile packaging has been removed after delivery or if the product has already been used or damaged. We will then refund you the full purchase price minus the stated costs for the extended 30-day trial right.
